Terms of use

These are the terms for playing Lorewalk (the "app"), made by Hugo Pretorius. By using the app you agree to them. They are short on purpose.

The game

Each day the app publishes one expedition. You get one ranked attempt at it. Scores are computed on our servers; the app cannot be used to gain an unfair advantage on the leaderboard, and we may remove entries that were not earned by playing. Leaderboards, ranks, streaks and the Library are features of the service and may change.

Your account

Your account is anonymous and tied to your device. If you delete the app or reset your device, your progress may be lost unless account linking is available and you have used it. You are responsible for the name you give your Wayfarer: it appears on public leaderboards, so keep it free of anything abusive, hateful, or that impersonates someone else. We may rename or remove entries that break this.

Purchases

Some features are paid (for example a Pass that lets you play missed days). Purchases are made through the App Store or Google Play under their terms and refund rules. Prices are shown before you buy. Paid content is a licence to use it in the app, not a transfer of ownership.

Content

The expeditions are written with the help of AI and reviewed before they go live. We work hard on accuracy, but the app is a game, not a reference work: check anything you intend to rely on. The art, characters, writing and code are ours or licensed to us; you may share the postcards and screenshots the app makes for you.

Conduct

Do not attempt to break, reverse-engineer, scrape or overload the service, or to interfere with other players. That is the whole list.

Availability and changes

We aim for a new place every day, but the service may be interrupted or changed, and it may end. We will give reasonable notice if we shut it down, and the Library of days you played will remain viewable for as long as we reasonably can.

Liability

The app is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of it. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.
